I know that it is the African, not the Asian elephants killed for their tusks, but still I thought this photo might represent the pitifulness of the Africans' plight. It is simply horrible the way these animals are murdered and wasted. And for what? For something that looks nice and exotic. Disgusting. Simply disgusting. These creatures don't bother anyone. It is just horrific the way humans manipulate and exploit nature.
Please note: While I have gone off on a tangent here and would love to hear your views, please leave comments on the photo as well. Thank you.
Simba-Asian Elephant January 7, 2008 Edits: border, adjust saturation, adjust contrast, b&w Taken with Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT
Though I guess the emotion doesn't exactly come off to me - the whole dying, endangered emotion - the shot itself is technically flawless. The focus is nice, the composition is spot on, the B&W tones are amazing, and I lovelovelove how you filled the frame.
Ah, I thought the b&w might help. Trying something new, anyway; those elephants don't do too too much. Thank you! Coming from you that means a lot! I had to crop from the top a bit to fill up the frame. Glad you like it!

"Oh my gosh, Liz Lemon! Isn't there a Slankie somewhere you should be filling with your farts?!"
Everytime I see the AK elephants, they're either eating or the babies are running around and if I were sitting still that'd be awesome.. butttt obviously that isn't possible at AK. Such a shame.
They're African, though, right? In my experience, the Africans are more active than the Asians. Unfortunately, all these guys seem to do is eat and sway.
